Adrian Vitus, Congressional Candidate in OH-6.

In normal times, I wouldn’t be the type of person to run for Congress.

True to my city, I was raised with the middle-class ethos of work hard, be humble, and let your actions do the talking. That should mean that working families can get good paying jobs in their own communities, send their children to school safely with their neighbors, afford to stay healthy without medical debt, and still have a little extra left over for themselves.

They told us that if we work hard, we can get ahead. As the richest country in the world, that should be our reality today.

But it’s not, because the political and economic system is built to profit the few and marginalize the many. Working people are being left behind while the rich get richer and the powerful grow more corrupt. I am tired of watching my community crumble as the politicians, corporate donors and billionaires are profiting from our struggle. These are not normal times, so I’m standing up with a clear message – by working people, for working people.

My name is Adrian Vitus, and I am running for the OH-6 congressional seat representing my hometown region – from Youngstown to the Ohio Valley.

I was born and raised in this district to an immigrant mother and USW union father. I am a graduate of Youngstown State University, but I could only make tuition payments by working on the side as a landscaper, woodworker and dishwasher. Growing up, hard work in Ohio was the only reality that I knew.

Like many from my community, I left to seek more opportunities. I worked on fundraising and political campaigns and taught English to foreigners and immigrant communities across the world.

More recently, I graduated with a top master’s degree and worked on solving some of the world's biggest problems in the international development sector with the World Bank and as a USAID contractor with the United State Government before being impacted by DOGE federal cuts.

Starting out as a kid from Ohio with big goals, I worked hard for every opportunity that I got. I heard "no" a thousand times before I found success.

Then they took my job, along with so many inspiring veterans and federal workers.

So now, I’m coming for theirs.

I am not unique, only representative of a community that feels that the system doesn’t work for them. But the moment is unique, an inflection point in history when American democracy is not guaranteed and inequality is not sustainable. Our campaign will contribute from day one to building a better life for working people.

Change starts today.

I believe in the people of the Ohio Valley. I want us to have a voice again, a worker’s movement that is led by normal people in the middle of this country. That is the history we come from, and that is the history that I am most proud of. To represent the working majority.

We are not asking for a handout or asking to be heard.

We are demanding a fair opportunity to work for a better life.

I am here to represent constituents of OH-6, and not big corporations.

Because of that, I am not taking a dollar from corporate PACs.

This campaign is fully funded by people just like you. Join us!
